Brownout Monitor
Brownout Monitor watches official power advisories in Iloilo and puts a warning on its owner's Google Calendar before a scheduled power interruption, with a reminder 30 minutes before it starts.
How it works
- About every 30 minutes it checks public announcements from MORE Power and ILECO 1.
- When an announcement confirms a future interruption for one of the owner's locations, it adds one calendar event with the start time, end time and a link to the announcement.
- If the utility changes or cancels the schedule, it updates or removes that same event.
Who can use it
Nobody else. It is run by one person for their own calendar. There is no sign up, no account to create and nothing for the public to use.
Google data
It uses Google Calendar permission only to add, change and remove its own brownout warnings. The privacy policy explains exactly what it touches and how to remove its access.
